Tender Mercies Are The Best

Hi ya'll! I hope the best for you! I am honored to share some stories with you this week and hope you enjoy.

This week we had 12 of our 18 lessons cancel. We are doing our best and are trying everything we can to make these lessons happen. It's been sometimes discouraging but we have been so blessed by the hand of God to stay happy and strong admist the hard times. That's why I named this email "Tender Mercies Are The Best". Some of these tender Mercies have been getting cookies but others were seeing many new people who want to be taught! Along with this I feel like I have laughed so much this week! I've got some pretty funny companions! I know the Lord doesn't always give us what we want or that things don't always go according to plan. I know as I am patient we will see the fruits of our labor. My dear grandpa James Nelson or a.k.a Gene gave a talk in sacrament this past week and shared the talk with me. Here are some of his words about having patience in the Lord's timing,-"The answer to “WHY” came to me, not when I wanted it, but came when I needed it. It was only at this moment, that I was finally able to say to my Heavenly Father, do with me what you will, and I had the lifesaving surgery, This almost 18 years ago."  My grandpa was only supposed live 6 months but because of divine intervention he's still so strong today, even after almost 18 years. I know you all don't know the full story behind these beautiful words of my dear grandfather but they are true and when we turn to our Heavenly Father all things can be made happy, right, even perfect. I haven't given an update on how long I've been out in a while. So I have 8 months left. Time goes by fast. I am glad the time we do have can be good however as we trust in God. I pray for you all that God may be the most important influence in your life! I pray that you may ponder that and learn what it means to live it.

With all my love, Elder Caleb Holt
