Happy Halloween!

Image
Yay! It's October 31! How exciting. We have some fun activities planned tonight like Facebook work, calls, and texts, etc. Haha! Our mission has decided to stay indoors today and not find people on the street etc. This will be nice because we walked 8.7 miles yesterday and it is poring rain today! Yesterday was the primary program and that was beautiful as always. Our friends loved it! One of our friends named Helmet has been to church once before this week and he is already on date for baptism! After the first week he decided he wanted to always go to Jesus Christ's church. We got to plan a date because he attended a baptism with us and decided his goal was to get to the temple and to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ he wanted to be baptized so he could get there. He is amazing! We now know how to better define elect. Hopefully I can attend his baptism, transfers is next week so we'll find out next Monday if I can be here on the 19th of November for that. On some other oc...

Opposition Comes Before Miracles

Hi Brother and Sisters. It is good to be emailing you today! Was your week good? It yes then yay! If no then I mourn with you and hope with you for it to get better.  This week has been all sorts of hard and good. I had mentioned in my past email that we saw a lot of lessons fall through and we were a bit discouraged. I had a couple different people tell me that as I endure just a little longer that the Lord would bless us so much soon! Upon living that hope that was given to me we saw a load of Miracles this week! A lesson that I learned from this is that Satan knows when good things are going to happen and He'll try and stop those things from going forward. But if we endure it well then we shall have our reward. This week we found 8 new people to teach and had 5 different people attend sacrament meeting. We got to teach some of the most elect people I've met on my mission. Another thing I learned recently from David A Bednars most recent talk is that we can choose to be chose...

Tender Mercies Are The Best

Image
Hi ya'll! I hope the best for you! I am honored to share some stories with you this week and hope you enjoy.  This week we had 12 of our 18 lessons cancel. We are doing our best and are trying everything we can to make these lessons happen. It's been sometimes discouraging but we have been so blessed by the hand of God to stay happy and strong admist the hard times. That's why I named this email "Tender Mercies Are The Best". Some of these tender Mercies have been getting cookies but others were seeing many new people who want to be taught! Along with this I feel like I have laughed so much this week! I've got some pretty funny companions! I know the Lord doesn't always give us what we want or that things don't always go according to plan. I know as I am patient we will see the fruits of our labor. My dear grandpa James Nelson or a.k.a Gene gave a talk in sacrament this past week and shared the talk with me. Here are some of his words about having pati...

This Week Flew By, I Love You All

Image
Good morning! I hope you all have had a great week. I am anxious to tell you about mine. This area is amazing! There is so much to do here. We have really been focused on our purpose. I have felt God's love a lot!  I've mentioned how this area I'm in is amazing. I want to expound on that. We came into the area with no contact with anyone. 0 bits of information about what are boundaries are like. 0 bits of information about anything. We literally showed up to our apartment and started creating an area. And this gave us so much opportunity for good works. In past areas I've worked a lot with different members, activities and so forth but this area we get to choose what we work on because it is new. We have chosen to fulfill our purpose as missionaries of course and find, teach and baptize those who are willing to let God prevail. This focus is what has made this area my favorite and best! We have 25 potential people to start teaching and 10 we are already teaching. We had...

New Area, New Ward And Conference!

Image
Good morning everyone! I hope you're having a blessed morning. I look forward to sharing some experiences from this week that I've had. I also love to hear from you! I'm going to start with sharing what happend on Thursday and go from there!  Thursday, we got to finally get to our new areas and get new companions! It was an exciting time to see transfer news because I knew I'd love my new companions and also I wouldn't be in leadership anymore, haha. I love leadership and it has been one of the greatest experiences but it is nice now to just worry about finding, teaching and baptizing. I love my new companions- Elder Martinez and Elder Sanders. To speak briefly on Elder Martinez he is from Gilbert AZ and just came out into the field on Tuesday! He is a sharp tool in God's shed. Other things, my area is brand new and hasn't seen missionaries. It is so fun to walk and talk to people to start the work. We've knocked doors, talked with members etc. A few peo...
