Helmut Jacky Is A Member

This week we had so many great miracles. I want to share mainly about our friend Helmut. I want to share because he is an amazing example and we all can learn from him. He was found on his porch outside of a apartment complex. It is funny to hear him talk about us finding him. He thought we were kind of funny at first but also that God sent us to him. After our first lesson he wanted to follow God and we became best friends. A couple visits later and some time at church he decided to get baptized so he may go to the temple. He made his decision shortly after watching someone else get baptized and seeing a temple tour video at that same baptismal service. After being congratulated by the mission president he smiled very big. He progressed and stopped smoking, drinking, other things as well. Then on a more tender note he said goodbye to Elder Zach Martinez two week before his baptism.

Although a warm welcome to the new Elder Jet Wilkinson. Helmut made his date for the 19th of November. The program went smooth as can be. During his testimony he shared that he'd follow Jesus Christ until the day he dies. Also that he'd return to his home land Chuuk in Micronesia and teach all his people now that he knows the things of God. Helmuts example teaches me that we must have a willing heart, mind and humility for us to be receptive to receiving God's blessings. As we change our lives we can all experience the same things Helmut did (if we haven't already). Helmut shares with others that once he met us everything started going better. He had many things line up in his life as he followed the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For example a passport he had been waiting on for years finally made progress. He had work opportunities. He lost bad friends and made new ones. He shares the gospel with his family. He SMILES. He has less anxiety. I am not saying each of these things will happen for each of you immediately if you pray once but as you put your trust in God and His gospel you can see things get under control and better. Much better! Sunday Helmet was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and recieved The Gift of the Holy Ghost. He got a calling and a temple recommend. He is really willing to let God prevail. We love him. I hope you all can learn something new from this or remember something good from this. I pray that the spirit may teach you. This week is Thanksgiving and I want to say that I am thankful for you all and especially those in my family. We have wonderful parents, Mat and Jamie as you know them. Thank you mom and dad for everything and for other mom and dad's out there. May God be with you all this week.
